Collins Letsoalo was born in Ga-Molepo village in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. Collins is a trained Economist, Banker, Corporate Financier and Financial Markets Practitioner. He was at the South African Reserve Bank, playing various roles before joining Government through the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE); where he was involved in the restructuring of State Owned Enterprises. He had a stint at Vunani Property Investment Fund where he worked with Hyprop to build a divested property investment vehicle. He then re-joined the public service as Deputy Director General (DDG): Financial Services at the Department of Transport (DoT), South Africa. He was thereafter seconded and spent three and a half years at the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) of South Africa to assist in turning around what was an ailing entity.
Mr. Colins re-joined the DoT after achieving two unqualified audits in succession and also placing RTMC in a sound financial position from a technically insolvent position. On 1 July 2016, he was assigned to the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) as the Acting Group CEO tasked to develop and implement a turnaround strategy to restore operations as well as corporate and financial governance. He returned to his position of CFO of the Department of Transport in March 2017. Collins was recently seconded to the Cross Border Road Transport Agency of South Africa (C-BRTA) and is currently appointed to Act as the CEO of C-BRTA.
